For three decades, Club Stride has been more than a youth program. We’ve been the architects of possibility — shaping leaders, building connections, and laying a foundation for change that lasts.

The groundwork we’ve built over the years isn’t made of bricks and mortar. It's built from:

  • Conversations that spark courage.

  • Projects that give young people the tools to lead.

  • Partnerships that bring new opportunities into our community.

Each generation of Club Stride youth inherits that foundation. And each generation adds to it — with their own voices, skills, and vision for the future.

Through our youth leadership program and community impact programs, each generation of Club Stride youth inherits that foundation. And each generation adds to it — with their own voices, skills, and vision for the future.

Today, we enter a new chapter. This isn’t about tearing down what’s come before — it’s about building on top of it, from the ground up. The work you’ll see in the coming months is the result of years of preparation, lessons learned, and the belief that our community’s future belongs in the hands of those willing to create it.

This series — The Groundwork — will give you a closer look at how we prepare for big moves in the quiet moments where change begins. From empowering high school students to design their own advocacy projects, to launching community impact programs that address real needs in Solano County, our process is intentional, inclusive, and deeply rooted in equity.

It’s a glimpse into what it really takes for Club Stride to create lasting change through youth leadership programs that transform not just participants — but communities. And we can’t wait to share it with you.

The groundwork begins now.

I can't wait to see what Club Stride has to offer in the future. I was encouraged by the young people I met at your facility on Sonoma. Looking forward to see what happens next.

These are values to which I heartily subscribe. I cannot know the depths of the lived experiences of others, or the history, or the commitment brought to founding an organization such as yours. I can only respond affirmatively. Which is: that if I personally am in a position to tangibly act on these values, I must. In spite of everything I may say, do, or get wrong, my heart and intent aim in this direction. But I cannot possibly say this better than Dr. King did, in 'Letter from a Birmingham Jail,' which is on the wall …
