I Am Community

A flagship initiative that equips middle and high school students to strengthen protective factors, resist risky behaviors, and build healthier communities.  Students engage in civic projects, storytelling, and peer mentorship to create safer, more inclusive schools.

Every Middle School Has a Story. We're Helping Youth Tell It.

I Am Community (IAC) is a youth-led storytelling, media, and prevention initiative strengthening identity, connection, and belonging on middle school campuses.​

School Media & Radio Broadcast

 

Students step behind the mic to find their voices. They learn broadcast journalism, podcast production, and digital storytelling—all while tackling issues like school safety, mental health, and belonging.


Impact: Youth-led broadcasts have sparked conversations on campuses and inspired a new generation of confident communicators.

Vallejo City Unified School District and Club Stride have partnered to bring IAC to middle school campuses as part of a districtwide commitment to protective factors and student-centered prevention. Together, we're building school communities where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.

Campus Engagement & Leadership Projects

Through student clubs, after-school activities, and special projects, we partner with schools to build a culture of engagement. Students design and lead initiatives that strengthen their campus community and connect with larger countywide campaigns.
